    United States of America, ss.
    State of New York, County of Jefferson

    On this 27 day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty eight I, Frank Webert, an Alien, formerly a resident of Germany and now a resident of Stone Mills in the County of Jefferson, and State aforesaid, do, upon oath declare that I was born in Germany on or about the year 1861, that I emigrated to the United States and landed at the Port of New York on or about the month of July in the year 1884, that it is bona fide, my intention to become a CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to any and every Foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatsoever, and particularly all allegiance and fidelity to Emperor William whereof I am a natural born citizen.

    IN THE MATTER OF


    ON HIS NATURALIZATION.

    Frank A. Webert being duly sworn, says that for the continued term of five years last past, he has resided within the United States, without permanently departing the same during the said term; and that for one year, last past, he has resided within the State of New York; that it has been his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every Foreign Power.

    S. J. Miller and Frank Knupher of the county aforesaid, being severally sworn, depose and say that they are citizens of the United States and have been acquainted with Frank A. Webert for more than five years, last past; that said Frank A. Webert has resided wihin the United States for more than five years, last past; and within the State of New York one year; that he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same.

    I, Frank A. Webert, do swear that I will support the Constitution of the United States of America, and that I do absolutely and entirely renounce and adjure all allegiance and fidelity to every Foreign Prince, Power, Potentate and Sovereignty whatsoever, and particularly to the Emperor of Germany whose subject I was. And further, that I have never borne any hereditary title, or been of any of the degrees of nobility.
