    Jefferson County

    In the Matter of Application of
    William Webert
    for Admission to Citizenship.

    Edward Barton being duly sworn says that his full name is Edward Barton; that he resides at No. Street in the Village of La Fargeville and that his occupation is Farmer; that he is a citizen of the United States and personally well acquainted with the above named William Webert, that said William Webert has resided within the United States for a term of 5 years last past, and within the State of New York for the term of one year last passed, and during said time he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same.
    Deponent further says, that he believes that for the portion of the two years next preceding the next term of Court at which said William Webert can be naturalized that has elapsed at this date, it has been bona fide the intention of the said William Webert to become a citizen of the United States; that the grounds for such belief are as follows:

    THIS CERTIFIES that the above named William Webert duly filed a written notice on the 9 day of July 1900, in this office of his application to the County Court of Jefferson County for admission as citizen of the United States, and that the provisions of section 4 Chapter 927 of the Laws of 1895 have been fully complied with.

    To be admitted a Citizen of the United States.

    United States of America, ss:
    State of New York, Jefferson County

    Edward Barton of LaFargeville and E. J. Tallman of LaFargeville in the County of Jefferson in the state aforesaid, having been severally duly sworn, in open court, depose and say, each for himself, that he is a citizen of the United States, and is well acquainted with the above named applicant, that said applicant has resided within the United States, continually for the term of five years at least preceding this date, and not elsewhere, and has resided for one year at least and for the last year in the State of New York, and during all that time he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same.

    I, William Webert, do solemnly declare on oath, that I will support the Constitution of the United States, and that I hereby absolutely and entirely renounce and adjure all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Potentate and Soveregnty, and particularly to the Emperor of Germany of which I was before a citizen or subject.

    At a term of the County Court held at the City of Watertown, in the County of Jefferson and State of New York, on the 6 day of Aug 1900.

    In the Matter of Application of
    William Webert
    to be admitted a Citizen of the United States.

    Whereas, the said applicant, William Webert late of Germany at present of LaFargeville in the County of Jefferson, State of New York, having at least fourteen days heretofore filed in this Court his petition in due form to be admitted to citizenship, and affidavit of Edward Barton an American citizen filed same date and said applicant now appearing personally in Court, producing the evidence required by the Acts of Congress, having made such declaration and renunciation, and having taken such oaths as are by said acts required, and having filed the certificate required by law,
    It is Ordered by the said Court that the said applicant be and is hereby admitted to be a citizen of the United States of America.
