    Evans Mills, June 5

One of the social events of the season here was a variety shower given Friday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Lobdill by their daughters, Misses Gertrude and Mildred Lobdill, for Miss Gladys Fraley, who will become the bride of Walter Webert some time this month.
The color scheme was lavender and white, lilacs being the flowers used. The dining room and table was lighted with lavender candles. The favors were lavender baskets filled with candies and a tiny flag floated from each basket. The gifts were piled in a large clothes basket which was drawn in by Miss Fraley's little brother, Master Robert, who was dressed as a little girl. On emptying the basket the bride elect found a table cloth, pillow cases, fancy dishes, table scarf, waterless cooker, silver vase, pyrex glass and many pieces of kitchen equipment.
Ice cream, cake, jello, fancy cookies and bananas were served.
Those present were Misses Gladys Fraley, Cora Barker, Delphine Hodgkin, Ella Corey, Carolyn Simonet, Elizabeth Shurtliff, Ruth Buskirk, Margaret Bowman, Bessie Walts, Clara Cool, Evelyn Churchill, Dora Dean, Marion Fraley, Gertrude and Mildred Lobdill. Mrs. Fraley, Mrs. Welton Gardner and Mrs. Lobdill assisted with the serving.
