      Word has been received here of the death of C. A. Adams, 87 which occurrerd at the home of his son, Wayne Adams, Ludington, Mich., at 4:30 p.m., Friday, March 26. He had suffered a heart attack on Sunday, March 21, from which he failed to rally.
      Mr. Adams was born at Cape Vincent, March 15, 1850, a son of Christopher and Barbara Adams. He was married here 23 years later, on March 5, 1873, to Miss Ella McWayne, who survives.
      The couple remained in this section until 1886, when they removed to Michigan, settling at Hart, where Mr. Adams engaged in the drug business of Cady and Adams. In 1903 he moved to a farm about a mile out of Ludington.
      Mr. and Mrs. Adams made their home on the farm until about ten years ago when they moved to Ludington to reside with their son. Always active in community affairs, during this period Mr. Adams served for four years as supervisor of Pere Marquette township, serving as chairman of the board for one year.
      He was also a pioneer in Grange activities, having served for four years of Pomona Grange and for five years as Master of of Pere Marquette Grange. During this period he was instrumental in organizing four subordinate Granges in Mason County.
      Also active politically, he was a past chairman of the county Republican committee and had served frequently as a delegate from Mason county to State Republican conventions.
      Surviving in addition to the widow and son, Wayne, are three sisters, Mrs. Julia Fraley, of Watertown, N.Y., Mrs. Mary Barbara Vincent of Grand Rapids, and Mrs. Katherine Cady, of Penwater, Mich., and a brother George Adams, of Ludington, Mich.
      Funeral services were held on Monday, March 29 at 2:30 p.m. from the Dorrell chapel, with interment in the Lakeview cemetery, Ludington.

      Mrs. Ella A. Adams, 91, of Ludington, Mich., formerly of Cape Vincent and widow of Christopher Adams, died at her home in Ludington on Friday of last week, September 10.
      Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 3:30 at the Lorrell Funeral home, Ludington, with burial at that place.
      Surviving are a granddaughter, Mrs. Grace Adams Lidke, Scottville, Mich., and two nieces, Mrs. Estelle Persons and Mrs. Mabel Reidell, both of Watertown.
      Mrs. Adams was born in the town of Cape Vincent, the daughter of Andrew and Lovine McWayne. She lived in this section until moving to Ludington many years ago.
      On March 5, 1873, she was married to Christopher A. Adams, also formerly of Cape Vincent. He died at Ludington on March 26, 1937, at the age of 87 years.

      The following, which appeared in the February 19 issue of the Daily News, Ludington, Mich., will be of interest to the readers of The Eagle:
      Ill since July, Edwin McWayne Adams, 63, died late Wedndesday afternoon at his home at 604 East Loomis Street.
      Mr Adams had lived in Ludington since 1903. He was born May 22, 1879, at Cape Vincent, N.Y., and resided in New York, and for a short time, in Hart, before coming to Ludington.
      A talented musician, Mr. Adams was at one time a member of New York Symphony quartet. He was a bass drimmer in a number of Ludington bands. He also appeared in many local home talent productions and minstrel shows.
      Mr. Adams formerly was manager of Kosy theatre and had been emplyed by Star Watch Co. and by Electric Tamper & EquipmentCo.
      He leaves his aged mother, Mrs. Ella A. Adams, of this city; a daughter, Mrs. Grace Lidke, of Scottville, and three grandsons, Kenneth Sedgewick, jr., Robert Lidke and Phillip Lidke, all of Scottville. His wife, Mary L. Adams, died May 20, 1940.

      Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Adams, of Ludington, Mich., celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Sunday afternoon and evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Watkins, 1122 Franklin Street. Mrs. Adams is a sister of Mrs. Watkins.
      Mr. and Mrs. Adams were former residents of Cape Vincent, and were married March 5, 1873 . They moved to Michigan in 1886, where they have since resided. They are spending several months in the east, and will return to Michigan this spring. Fourteen old friends and school mates sat down to dinner at 6. A large cake bearing the dates 1873-1923 formed the center piece. The decorations were in gold and white. Mr. and Mrs. Adams received many gifts.
      Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Curtis, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sheldon, Mr. and Mrs. Lyon Stratton, Mrs. Mary Flynn, Mrs. Polly MacIntyre, Mrs. Charles Persons, Mrs. Lena Miller, Mr. and Mrs. George Fraley, Mr. and Mrs. Adams, Mr. and Mrs. Watkins, Harold Reidell, and Mrs. Adams' mother, Mrs. Lavina McWayne, who is 94 years old.
