      Dear Mr Kelly,

Thanks for responding in German, Bu I think I better explain in English, why I contacted you, Visiting your website was really accidental: I just entered my name into Google to see what the Internet knows about me and Google found your website with a letter by a Leo Webert.
Reading the letter I found that some of your ancestors were born in Trimberg, Bavaria and emigrated to the US in the late 19th century. And going further thru your website I found that even one of your relatives visited Trimberg in the 1970s and thought he would have found where his ancestors lived.

I was born in Trimberg in 1949 and lived from 1977 to 1990 in Colorado, USA.
In 1990 I moved back to Germany and settled in former East Germany in the state of Mecklenburg- Vorpommern, which is north of Berlin along the coast of the Baltic Sea, about 600 km from Trimberg.
My mother and brother still live in Trimberg, where my brother operates a small vinery on the southern slopes below Trimburg castle.
While living in the US I always checked phone books for the unusual name Webert and at one time even bought a pamphlet listing all the "New world Weberts ". My father Otto Webert and my Grandfather Christian Webert however never mentioned that we had any relatives in the US, but there were several families in our small village (population about 300) who had relatives in "Amerika", and I remember it was always a big event, when there were visitors from the US in the village.
I can only trace back my roots to my Great Grandfather Rudolf Webert who lived from 1856 to 1932 and for a while was the mayor of our little village. I have attached a little family tree I put together one time, but you can see that I still need to do some research in regard to the dates of birth of my ancestors.
Even though we might not be distant relatives it is interesting to know about people by the same name tracing their roots back to the Franconian village of Trimberg. If you still want to find out more about Trimberg and your ancestors, I'll be glad to help if I can.

      Best regards
