    1908 for the Nuptials but couldn't find one.

    This is a copy of the notes taken by Fr. Bernard Jakubco of St. Mary's Parish, Evans Mills, NY. I had called him on 12/16/05 and spoke with him requesting a baptism record for Mary Bichet and a marriage record for Ferdinand Bichet and Anna Fitzpatrick. Since he could find no record of either event at St. Mary's parish in Evans Mills, he forwarded the notes (he had taken during our conversation) to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Watertown, NY. They responded with the above and a copy of a portion of a page from an old record book.

      Hello!

      Mary Besha, my great-grandmother was born on August 6, 1880, LeRay, NY. She was baptized in Sept. 1880 in St. Mary's church, Evans Mills, Diocese of Ogdensburg. (according to a marriage record in St. James Church, July 1, 1908)
      I would like to have a copy of her baptism and birth records if they are available. I have already written to the Town of LeRay and requested the birth record, however, their records begin 1882. I also understand that the Albany birth records (State of New York Dept. of Health) begin in 1881, so they most likely will not have her birth record.

    Adults L to R: Edward Fraley (son of Frank & Genevieve), Joe Price (husband of Genevieve Fraley; he was in the Coast Guard),my grandmother Genevieve Stumpf Fraley, next to her is I think your g-grandmother because my aunt Genevieve called her Maddie Beche married to Christopher Fraley) who ran Fraley's cabins in Clayon NY, the blond is Edna mae Fraley,daughter of Frank & Genevieve, the man in the straw hat is my grandfather Frank Fraley the old woman beside him is his mother Julia Adams Fraley (wife of Peter Fraley), the tall man beside him is Oliver Nichols, who was the fire chief of Cape Vincent and married my Aunt Edna Mae in Nov 1933. The kids in the picture are the first 5 of Genevieve and Joe Price's 11 kids. They are Beatrice Price, age 7, Richard Price, age 9, Francis Price age 8, George Price age 6, and the little guy in the fron is: Tommy Price, age 2.

    The small building in the back is where they kept the pigs. The picture was taken at the back of the house.

      Sorry I can't help you. My cousin, Jackie Fraley Kucharski and her husband stayed with us for a few days on their way down to the Keys. She brought some old pictures with her. On the back of the picture it said "Fraley Farm 1933". There is a woman standing beside my grandmother Genevieve Fraley and Jackie told me it was Aunt Madeline. She said every time their Family would drive to Cape Vincent from Ohio to visit Gram & Gramps, they would stay at Fraley's Cabins in Clayton NY with Aunt Madeline. They didn' stay in a cabin but in Aunt Madeline's house. I guess she rented out rooms in her house also. In a letter that my Aunt Genevieve sent to me in 1973 regarding ancestry, she said Christopher Fraley married Maddie Besche. I know she misspelled her last name but I thought she could perhaps be your g-grandmother. I've sent the picture to my brother in Michigan who is 13 years older then me and my sister in CA who is 10 years older then me and asked them if they knew the people in the picure. I'll let you know what I find out. There are also a man in a straw hat and an old couple in the picture and also a blond woman. There are pictures of my Price cousins ranging in age from 9 to 2.

      According to Dona Webert, Secretary of the Church of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, this book of baptisms ("Regesta Baptismorum") was not titled on the outside cover. She was kind enough to copy the page with the page number showing (page 42), however, she covered up the other entries on the page, for fear of disclosing other "private" information, as her notes indicated. I think she was being a bit over cautious, however, since anyone who was born/baptised in 1880 is now long deceased.

      According to Dona Webert, Secretary of the Church of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, this book of baptisms ("Regesta Baptismorum") was not titled on the outside cover. She was kind enough to copy the page with the page number showing (page 42), however, she covered up the other entries on the page, for fear of disclosing other "private" information, as her notes indicated. I think she was being a bit over cautious, however, since anyone who was born/baptised in 1880 is now long deceased.

      Adults L to R: Edward Fraley (son of Frank & Genevieve), Joe Price (husband of Genevieve Fraley; he was in the Coast Guard),my grandmother Genevieve Stumpf Fraley, next to her is I think your g-grandmother because my aunt Genevieve called her Maddie Beche married to Christopher Fraley) who ran Fraley's cabins in Clayon NY, the blond is Edna mae Fraley,daughter of Frank & Genevieve, the man in the straw hat is my grandfather Frank Fraley the old woman beside him is his mother Julia Adams Fraley (wife of Peter Fraley), the tall man beside him is Oliver Nichols, who was the fire chief of Cape Vincent and married my Aunt Edna Mae in Nov 1933. The kids in the picture are the first 5 of Genevieve and Joe Price's 11 kids. They are Beatrice Price, age 7, Richard Price, age 9, Francis Price age 8, George Price age 6, and the little guy in the fron is: Tommy Price, age 2.

      The small building in the back is where they kept the pigs. The picture was taken at the back of the house.

      C. E. Fraley Rites Set Evans Mills - The funeral for Christopher E. Fraley, 82, who died Thursday morning in the Jefferson county hospital, Watertown, will be Saturday at 8:30 a.m. at the Frederick Brothers funeral home, and at 9 a.m. in St. Mary's church, with Rev. John F. Pendergast, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Vincent de Paul's cemetery, Rosiere. Friends may call at the funeral home this afternoon and evening. Mr. Fraley was born in Rosiere, May 1, 1884, a son of Peter and Julia Adams Fraley. He was married to Mary Beasha, Copenhagen, in 1908 in Carthage. The couple lived in Rosiere where they operated a farm until 1923 when they moved to Evans Mills. Mr. Fraley was employed by the Borden company and operated a farm until 1940, when it was taken over by Camp Drum. Mrs. Fraley died Aug. 12, 1937.

      The HAVEL was built by AG Vulcan, Stettin in 1890 for Norddeutscher Lloyd [North German Lloyd]. This was a 6,875 gross ton ship, length 463ft x beam 51.9ft, two funnels, three masts, single screw and a speed of 18 knots. There was accommodation for 244-1st, 122-2nd, and 460-3rd class passengers. Launched on 30/8/1890, she sailed from Bremen on her maiden voyage to Southamptom and New York on 5/2/1891. She commenced her last voyage on this service on 19/4/1898 and was then sold to Spain, where she was converted to an armed cruiser and renamed METEORO. In 1899 she went to Compania Trasatlantica Espanola and was renamed ALFONSO XII. She commenced her first voyage from Bilbao to Coruna, Vigo, Havana, and New York on 30/10/1916 and made 9 round voyages on this service.
