      Robert Sixbury, born March 6, 1763; was an Indian hunter and trapper and was probably the first white settler in this vicinity at the age of 14. The organization of the town was in his log cabin in 1804. He lived to the age of 109, dying in LeRay in 1872; married Elizabeth Hoover and had: 1, John married Barbara Meld ; Polly married Isaac Louis Cushman; Betsy married Ahi Shattuck; Jacob married Mary Hoover; Alexander married A. Croissant; Anna married Isaac Walradt; Isaac married Caroline Fikes; Almira married Joseph Bichet.
