      WIDOW OF GEO. FRALEY IS DEAD

      Rosiere Native Was Seamstress in Number of City Stores

      Mrs. Jane E. Fraley, 90, widow of George W. Fraley and a resident of Watertown for 64 years, died this morning shortly before 9 at her home, 655 Cooper Street, after a long illness. Death was attributed to hardening of the arteries and other infirmities of old age. She was a retired seamstress.
      The funeral will be Tuesday morning at 8:30 from the Simpson funeral homeand at 9 in the Church of Our Lady ao the Sacred Heart. Burial will be in North Watertown cemetery. She was a member of Sacred Heart church.
      Surviving her are a daughter, Mrs. Benjamin H. (Laurine G.) Bates, 655 Cooper Street; four grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
      Mrs. Fraley, who came practically blind ten years ago, had been in failing health for the past two years. She was a patient in the Mercy hospital in May and for the past two months she had been declining rapidly.
      She was born March 6, 1873 at Rosiere, a daughter of James and Mary Laillet Tuft and a descendant of early French settlers of that area.
      She spent the early part of her life at Rosiere, where she was educated and where on Nov. 25, 1896, she was married to George W. Fraley, also of Rosiere, in St. Vincent de Paul's church.
      After two years at Rosiere, Mr. and Mrs. Fraley moved to Watertown in 1899. Mr. Frlaey died at the Cooper Street home March 20, 1935.
      Mrs. Fraley was employed at the old Hardiman-Woolworth company furniture store for about five years, sewing drapery. Later, she was a seamstress in the store of the Herr Fashion shop for 16 years. She was finally employed in the store of Lennon & Clarke, retiring at the age of 80 after six years of service as a fur finisher.
      At one time she was employed in the store of Kallen's Furs, Inc.

      Rosiere, May 12. - Peter Fraley, a retired farmer aged 72 years, who lived on the old homestead farm on the Mill road about a mile and a half from this village, died suddenly about about 9:45 Sunday evening at his home from an attack of heart failure. Mr. Fraley had retired to bed about 9 in his usual health, but was soon after taken ill and died within a very short time, and before a doctor could reach his bedside.
      The deceased was born on the farm where he died, and had spent his entire life there. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic church at Rosiere and of the Cape Vincent Grange.
      He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Julia Adams Fraley, and six sons and three daughters, George Fraley, Watertown; Frank, Christopher and William Fraley, Rosiere; Milford Fraley, Clayton; Clarence Fraley, who is serving overseas, and Mrs. John Granger and Mrs. Raymond Constance, of Rosiere and Miss Ella Fraley of Watertown.
      The funeral arrangements are incomplete, pending a message from an absent member of the family.

      After two years at Rosiere, Mr. and Mrs. Fraley moved to Watertown in 1899. Mr. Frlaey died at the Cooper Street home March 20, 1935.
      Mrs. Fraley was employed at the old Hardiman-Woolworth company furniture store for about five years, sewing drapery. Later, she was a seamstress in the store of the Herr Fashion shop for 16 years. She was finally employed in the store of Lennon & Clarke, retiring at the age of 80 after six years of service as a fur finisher.
      At one time she was employed in the store of Kallen's Furs, Inc.

      Rosiere, May 18.- Mrs. Julia Adams Fraley, 89, widow of Peter Fraley, died at 9:30 Saturday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Granger, with whom she resided.
      Funeral services will be held at 8:30 Tuesday morningat the Granger home and at 9 at the St. Vincent de Paul church, of which Mrs. Fraley was a member. Rev. Michael Kelley will officiate and burial will be made in the local cemetery.
      Mrs. Fraley was born June 8, 1852 in Cape Vincent, a daughter of Christopher and Barbara Reff Adams. She was married to Peter Fraley Jan. 23, 1872 at Rosiere. The couple lived on a farm near here. Mr. Fraley died May 11, 1919. Mrs Fraley lived with her daughter for about a year before her death.
      Survivors are: three daughters, Mrs. John (Melinda) Granger and Mrs. Ray (Mae) Constance, both of this village; and Miss Ella Fraley of Ogdensburg; five sons, Frank Fraley of Cape Vincent; Milford, Clayton; Christopher, Evans Mills; William, Wayland; and Clarence, Bayonne, N.J.; 14 grandchildren, a large number of great-grandchildren, one brother, George Adams of Ludington, Mich., and a sister, also of Ludington.

      George W. Fraley and Miss Jennie E. Tuft were married at St. Vincent de Paul's church, Wednesday, Nov. 25, Rev. Father Kelly officiating. Their many freinds wish them much happiness. They left on the 1:10 train for Rochester.

      Cape Vincent Eagle: One of the prettiest weddings ever witnessed at St. Vincent de Paul's church, Rosiere, occurred on Wednesday of last week. It was the marriage of two of Rosiere's popular young couple, and the rain did not prevent a large number gathering to see Miss Jennie Tuft and George W. Fraley united in the bonds of holy matrimony. William J. Bratien presided at the organ, and at precisely 10 o'clock the first strains of the wedding march were heard. The bride was charmingly attired in white satin armure and carried white chrysanthemums. The maid of honor was Miss Anna Tuft, of Potsdam, who _____________ and white and carried ______ chrysanthemums. Miss Malinda Farley acted as bridesmaid and wore pink and white with pink carnations. The groom was attended by his brother, Frank Fraley, and L.E. Tuft, of Antwerp, gave the bride away. Rev. Father Kelly performed the ceremony and in a short time the young couple were receiving the hearty congratulations of their many freinds.
      Mr. and Mrs. Fraley left on the 1 o'clock train for Rochester.

      Mrs. Jane E. Fraley, 90, widow of George W. Fraley and a resident of Watertown for 64 years, died this morning shortly before 9 at her home, 655 Cooper Street, after a long illness. Death was attributed to hardening of the arteries and other infirmities of old age. She was a retired seamstress.
      The funeral will be Tuesday morning at 8:30 from the Simpson funeral homeand at 9 in the Church of Our Lady ao the Sacred Heart. Burial will be in North Watertown cemetery. She was a member of Sacred Heart church.
      Surviving her are a daughter, Mrs. Benjamin H. (Laurine G.) Bates, 655 Cooper Street; four grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
      Mrs. Fraley, who came practically blind ten years ago, had been in failing health for the past two years. She was a patient in the Mercy hospital in May and for the past two months she had been declining rapidly.
      She was born March 6, 1873 at Rosiere, a daughter of James and Mary Laillet Tuft and a descendant of early French settlers of that area.
      She spent the early part of her life at Rosiere, where she was educated and where on Nov. 25, 1896, she was married to George W. Fraley, also of Rosiere, in St. Vincent de Paul's church.
