Oxon:
To the first wardons and Overseors of the Poore
of the Burrough of Witney in the said County.
Wee Erwin Goovos and Richard Reynolds being the Church wardon and Over seors of the Poore of the Hamlet
of Hayly in the Parish of Witney aforesaid Doe
according to the Statt: made in the Eighth and Ninth yeare of the Reigns of his Late Majy's King William the third [Established?] an Act for Supplying some defocts in the Laws for the Relief of the Poore of this Kingdom hereby for lifye that wee doe Owne and acknowledge that
Robert Biggers is an Inhabitant Legally Settled in our
said Hamlet and this wee fortify to the end to oblige
our said Hamlett of Hayly to receive him and his family
[?] and provide for them as Inhabitants of our said Hamlet according to the said Statt whenever hee they
or any of them Shall become chargeable to or bee
forced to as [?] releife of the said Burrough of Wittney
and not before. In witness whereof wee hereunto
set our hands and seals this first day of March in
the seventh year of Reign of our Sovereigne Lady
Anne Queen of Great Britain, France & Ireland [defend.?]
of the faith [e. v. ? Down?] 1708/9
