      DIED IN HOLY ORDERS

Sister Mary Was Known in the World as Miss Rose McKenny.

Sister Mary of St. Rita, known in the world as Miss Rose McKenny, died at the Convent of the Good Shepherd, at West Phildelphia, Pa., on Tuesday morning, the feast of the annunciation, being the date of the fourth anniversary of her entrance into the Order of the Good Shepherd. She was a native of this city, where her parents at present reside. She was educated at the Immaculate Conception Academy.
As Miss McKenny she was beloved by a host of friends, being posessed of many lovable traits of character. A large number of friends met her remains at the Baltimore and Ohio station yesterday evening on their arrival in this city. They were thence conveyed to the Convent of the Good Shepherd at Georgetown, whence they will be taken to their final resting place in the site recently purchased for the order in Mount Olivet Cemetery. In courtesy to her brother, Rev. Father F. X. McKenny, professor of languages in St. Charles' College, Maryland, the order granted the unusual privelege of allowing the remains to be brought from Philadelphia to be interred away from the place where her labors ended.

In celebration of their fiftieth wedding anniversary, Mr. and Mrs John McKenny, of 1505 Eleventh street northwest, gathered around them last evening from 7 to 9 o'clock a large number of their friends and relatives. They were assisted in receiveing by their five children, Rev. F. X. McKenny, president of St. Charles College, Mrs. T. A. Sullivan, Miss Mary McKenny, Miss Agnes McKenny, and Mr. Eugene McKenny.
Great clusters of yellow chrysanthemums and palms formed the decorations in the parlor, hall and dining room.
The day was begun by celebration of mass before a miniature white and gold altar erected in one end of the drawing room, with their son, Rev. F. X. McKenny, as celebrant, assisted by Rev. Paul Griffith, Rev. Ambrose Bevin and rev. E. J. Connelly. The service, which was most impressive was intended by the family and nearest friends.
Mr. McKenny and Miss Sophia Wood were married in Ireland and came to America immediately after, becoming
