      Subject: Hoover information

      Hi Paul

Yes indeed Casper Hoover (HOVER) and his sons were Loyalists that
      settled in Adolphustown.

His sons were Henry, John, and Jacob. Interesting that your Henry also
had brothers John and Jacob, which indicates a possible family relationship.

In different records, I have found that Conrad came from Switzerland,
Germany or Holland, but nothing concrete on this. He was one of the
first deaths in our area and the 2nd burial in the UEL cemetery. The
family were indeed involved in Butlers Rangers. One internet source
claims he was a son of a Jacob Hover (Huber)

I am including some information on the family as attachment. Much of the
early info comes from son Henry Hover (Hoover) who is rather well
written up in our area. The best article on the family was written in
1869 in William Canniff's book, The Settlement of Upper Canada. I have
also scanned and attached two pages for you that discuss the Hover family.

Hope some of this helps you
      Brian

      Dear Mr. Tackaberry,

I am writing you in hopes of finding more information about Casper Huber, a purported member of the United Empire Loyalists.
According to William V.H. Barker (Early Families of Herkimer County, New York, pg. 144) Casper Huber and his two sons (Henry and Jacob)appeared on the United Empire Loyalist 'list'.

To give you some background about me, I am a descendant of Captain Henry Huber (Hoover).
To read more about Henry Huber, see this page of my web site:

      http://www.rootsdigger.org/getperson.php?personID=I345&tree=1

My research indicates a strong probability that Casper Huber and Henry Huber were brothers, given that Casper, along with John Huber and Jacob Huber, appeared on Captain Henry Huber's payroll (Tryon County Militia) at Burnetsfield, NY, June 1779.

I would like to solidify this sibling relationship between Casper/Kasper/Kaspar/Kasbar Huber and Henry Huber with further documentation.
      Can you help?

      Sincerely,

      Paul Kelly
